Summer 2022 Research Team

Christine Cooling is a fourth-year Communications & Media Studies student at York University. She has worked as a Research Assistant for Professor MacLennan since early 2021 on various projects about radio broadcasting, media history, national identity, sound, and popular culture. In the summer of 2022, Christine was awarded the Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE), where she worked on Professor MacLennan’s community radio project analyzing transcripts of the 300+ interviews.
Christine will graduate in April 2023 and hopes to pursue an MA in Communications in the politics & policy stream as a stepping stone to a future career in academia.
